Neurological Conditions
What is the neurological system?
The nervous system is the body’s central command center. The organs in charge of this system are the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and ganglia. All their organs are made of various tissues, including nerve, blood, and connective tissue. The brain controls all of your movements, thoughts, instinctive responses to the world around you, and every system and process, such as digestion, breathing, thinking, and puberty. Neurological diseases, conditions, accidents, trauma, the use of toxins, and the natural aging process can damage your nervous system acutely or chronically.
Conditions and diseases Signature Health Services can help you with
- Seizure Disorder: A seizure is a sudden, uncontrolled electrical interference between neurons in the brain. It can cause temporary abnormalities in your behavior, movements, feelings, and levels of consciousness.
- Alzheimer’s, including Dementia: Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects brain size, causing it to shrink and brain cells to die. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia.
- Paralysis: A loss of voluntary muscle function due to strokes or spinal cord injuries. Paralysis affects the function of a specific or widespread part of the body.
- Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA): A Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), often called a ministroke, is a temporary period of symptoms similar to those of a stroke. A TIA usually lasts only a few minutes and doesn't cause permanent damage to the nerve functions and system.
- Fibromyalgia: Chronic condition that causes widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory, and sudden mood swings.
- We also treat other conditions like Parkinson’s Disease, Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), Traumatic Brain Injury, and Paraplegia
